New community platform: quoting some posts not possible

Thank you for bringing this up. It can be done by selecting the Quote button in the editor, and then clicking Insert paragraph here.

 

This action splits the quote and adds space for the text. Quotes and text can then be added as needed. Example below:

 

Your text 1

The quote button in the reply editor just adds an empty quote. Of course you could manually copy texts and images from the post, but that is extra work. It also leaves out the author name. Though that is kind of obvious.
Adding a quote using the tripple dot menu and deleting the unused parts of the quotes can be quicker.

 

In addition the quote button doesn’t quote a code block properly. There is no syntax highlighting, it’s all red. The previous forum platform also had issues with quoting posts with code.
