SPC5 Flash Programmer 2.8.1 – cannot connect to SPC560B64 via UART (works in 2.7.9)

Hello,

I am facing a connection issue with SPC5 Flash Programmer version 2.8.1 when using UART communication with SPC560B64.

Setup:
Target MCU: SPC560B64
External crystal: 8 MHz
Interface: UCUART::HybridCom/7/UART
Same hardware setup as previously used successfully

SPC5 Flash Programmer v2.7.9 works correctly on an older PC, v2.8.1 (and newer) fails to connect.
The software stays in “Connection phase starting” and continuously retries, the UART interface LED does not blink. No connection is established.

Same SPC560B64 device, same UART interface and wiring

Are there any required driver updates, configuration changes, or compatibility notes for newer versions?

Hello ST Support Team,
I am working with an older hardware setup and legacy SPC5 microcontrollers (specifically via UART connection).
Unfortunately, the latest version of SPC5 Flash Programmer (v2.8.x) is not working correctly with my environment and fails to establish a stable connection. Previously, version 2.7.9 worked perfectly for my specific hardware and MCU configuration.
Since the legacy version is no longer available for direct download on the ST website, could you please provide a direct download link or send me the installer archive for SPC5 Flash Programmer v2.7.9?
Thank you in advance for your assistance.

The same hardware and UART setup working with version 2.7.9 points toward a compatibility or configuration change in newer releases. Checking the UART driver and release notes may help identify what changed. You can also check here:
