Can you help out a random student in need of help with his bachelors degree CAN bus task?

I am doing my bachelors degree and have a task to get two boards communicating using the CAN bus. I just got the boards and they pretty much said "have at it" without any prior knowledge.

By now i know most of the really basic stuff about the CAN bus and SPC5Studio but I don't know where to start and what to read. The boards that I got are aek-mot-3p99081 (with the motor) and spc58ec-disp. I also downloaded all of the necessary stuff for the SPC5Studio such as AutoDevKit, MCTK etc. I underastand that i need two terminating resistors and then connect the boards?

I am supposed to load the programs to the board and test them out seperately and then start testing the communication between them using the CAN bus. How can i do it and where to start? And might there be a really bored expert that can help a student out for some weird reason with a call or explanation.

Thank you for reading :).
