A thread to report over-zealous censorship of perfectly innocent words.
Scunthorpe problem - Wikipedia
Perhaps the censor dictionary can be "tuned" ... ?
The singular of "knobs" is censored: Encoder mode and rotary encoders as tuning knobs
Good catch, thanks Andrew Neil I have removed "knob" from the filter.
Hi Andrew Neil
The list of swear words used in Jive is generated from the 1.000 most used offensive words in US & British English,
so it's not context based (and it would be extremely hard to do, only a few social networks employ semantic language processing and sentiment analysis for their filters, and it's CPU (or more precisely GPU as it's based on ML) intensive
Understood - which is why there needs to be a quick & easy way to report when it gets it wrong!
Another one here: https://community.st.com/thread/16408#comment-193271
It is censoring a users name!!
Of course it does, as described previously the filtering is based on a dictionary of swear words and that one is among them
So, as done previously (by Brian Kling), the dictionary needs to be edited. There is no real reason to have that word excluded from this forum.
That is the whole point of this thread - to report such cases.
Done, that word is now out of the profanity list. Thanks for having reported it
