How to set up a 18 Bit SPI protocol with STM32F303

Hello,

I am having problems implementing the following SPI protocol on my STM32F303:18-Bit protocol

How is it possible to implement a 18-Bit protocol with SPI without using complicated stuff like bitbanging. Or is this the only possible way?

Right now I use 24-Bits (3x8-Bit packets) but it seems that the programmed chip does not respond to this implementation. Clearly because I have 24 CLK cycles and not 18 before CS goes high again.

Concerning the read operation Io have no clue at all how I can do this with a microcontroller rather than an FPGA.

I would appreciate some help here. Thanks!

best regards

Benjamin
