Character I/O for the STVD debugger. How ?

Discussion created by Available for a sales job on Jul 30, 2017

Looking for a easy means to communicate with the UART or other character I/O facility while debugging with STVD.

After the first steps with STVD, and debugging an assembly language program, I was missing an "instrument" to perform some basic character I/O. Like having a virtual com in the PC port hooked to a target UART while using the simulator as a target. For real hardware it would also be handy to have such a hook without having to connect physical COM ports.

Alternatively if character I/O was possible through the SWIM interface, either to and from a window in STVD or a virtual COM port that would be a usefull instrument too.

Any ideas ?
