This is STILL broken, any time line to addressing these usability issues with the forum?
Posting as a new discussion because the point system is broken to favour creating noise rather than answering questions with thoughtful answers.
I hate to copy what Clive wrote long ago but one quick and easy way how to "fix" problems with moderated posts is to assign more moderators around the globe, maybe by selecting volunteers from the crowd.
This maybe even does not require intervention from jive or any other complex interaction.
Thanks Clive One and waclawek.jan for your feedback. We do want to strive for a tighter, more accurate moderation filter and are working on that. We'll explore other methods to achieve this as well and come back to you and the community soon.
We are talking about starting with things that can be remediated in an afternoon, not requiring the entire code base to be refactored.
Time to start holding peoples feet to the fire.
As a test of "what can really be done locally/quickly", I'd re-suggest to get rid of the "happy faces" and all other stock photos, making finally this a resemblance of a professional forum rather than a chit-chat.
(I'm blocking them locally to avoid the daily dose of nausea)
Cross-ref: Why does using the Syntax Highlighter always cause a post to be held for moderation?
