Whats is Device Feature in dfuse ?

E.g the F767 offers 4 dfu interfaces:

While I understand alternate interface 0-2, I don't find any information about the "Device feature interface" . An3156 Table 6. mentions it as introduced with V2.1, but gives no further hint.
