New chips with U suffix.

I am used to chips being marked for example "STM32F405VGT6". However, from several people I hear that now chips marked with an additional "U" at the end are showing up. Date code 1613 or something like that. 

One person reported problems with that chip. 

To be honest: I personally don't think it's the chip, but I would like to know what that U stands for (the datasheet clearly states that this U does not exist....)
