Using type C usb instead of micro usb

Goodmornig,

I'm designing a board with an stm32wb microcontroller and I would like to use a type c connector for power supply (some hundreds of mA maximum) @ 5V the board and possibly to transfer data with the microcontroller. No advance type-c features are required. Is there some reference design to do it without having to use addition controller for type c management?

Hi Matteverze,

A functional and fully protected schematic is below.

TCPP01-M12 :

• BD presentation on CC lines for type-C
• 6V OVP on VBUS with associated load switch STL6N3LLH6 to protect against defective adapter

ECMF2-40A100N6 for data-lines :

• ESD 8kV
• CMF highly recommended due to Bluetooth (High common mode rejection on 2.4GHz band)

ESDA25P35-1U1M : TVS (Transient Voltage Suppressor) against surges on VBUS.

Thank you for providing a schematic. Is this schematic taken from some datsheet or reference? 

And another question, the pin DP and DM can be connected directly to the DP and DM pin available on STM32 MCU or other components are needed (like resistors...)? Are there any reference?
