Need tuning guide for new custom motor with EVSPIN32G4

I am trying to spin a new motor with motor pilot using EVSPIN32G4. I am not able to run it. Hitting startup failure.

Is there any quick and easy tuning guide available to tune a new motor and run smoothly?

I am able to run motor in torque loop , but in speed loop i am getting speed feedback error. Can i get some insight on what parameter needs to be tuned for that?

Hello @Sanchari,

Speed feedback error management is also described in the FOC firmware errors chapter of the user manual documentation.

Hi ,

Is there any documentation available for driverlib of G4 series of products?

Regards...

I am trying to run motor in single shunt FOC with 50kHz PWM frequency. But I am continuously getting over current fault in speed and torque both the modes.

I have gone through the error manual but not able to make out what is the problem with my board.

Attaching the MC workbench file for configuration reference.

Please help me to identify the problem.

Hello @Sanchari,

Did you try with the default WorkBench parameters?
PWM freq = 16000. T-rise/Tnoise if HW has not be modified, should remain with default values.
On motor side, you can set 15A instead of 20A.

Hi @GMA ,

I have tried with default T-rise/Tnoise along with MAX_Curr = 15A. Now the frequency of getting OVER_Current fault spuriously has been reduced but not removed.

Please suggest what else I need to modify.

Also if i change the PWM frequency to 50kHz from 16kHz then what all parameters need to be changed and how to find out those values?

Best Regards,

Sanchari.

Hi @GMA ,

Is there any update on the previously posted question?

Hello @Sanchari,

Did you use the Motor Profiler tool for your motor?
Why has the start-up profile table been customized? Have the full default Workbench settings been tested?
Did you review the overcurrent management section of the user manual FOC Error chapter?
