Hi, I'm using the boatd ihmi08. I would like to control the motor in closed loop as a target rotor angle. Is it possible in 6 steps or is the focus much better?

Foc not focus!

In my opinion since encoder is supported by hardware, FOC is better since you know the rotor position accurately and FOC can generate accurate torque control.

Using Quadrature Encoder speed sensing, FOC mode provides a position control mode. Refer to the Position Control chapter of the User Manual available through Workbench tool > About > Documentations > Documentation.
You can also refer to the Position Control application note.
