What is the purpose of VDDIO in ISM330DLC Accelerometer

Dear ST,

I am using the ISM330DLC gyro and accelerometer,

In the electrical connection mode 1 I have a pin called VDDIO.

In my application I connected this pin to 3V but, I don't have any idea what is the use of this pin?

Well, that's in the data sheet, table 1, with the pin descriptions:

VDDIO(1) Power supply for I/O pins

Footnote 1 stands for: Recommended 100 nF filter capacitor.

Hello Peter,

I think that means If I want 4.5v on INT1/2, went the interrupt is triggered, I have to connect VIO to 4.5v?

The data sheet clearly states in Table 3:

Vdd_IO = Power supply for I/O, min 1.62V, max 3.6 V

4.5V are slightly above 3.6V, so they are not permitted.

If you need a different voltage level because the connected components work there, you still have to keep within the voltage range for VDDIO and use a level shifter at INT1 or INT2, for example.
