Hello,

As far as we know, is it possible to get CAN bus master running from HSI clock at 1Mbps. However, is this reliable enough? should we go for a HSE clock scheme?

Thanks so much.

All the parts will run the CAN off whatever APB/AHB clock you drive the rest of the system with.

Review the tolerance of the CAN clock specification against that of the STM32 over voltage and temperature and decide if you're OK with that. I personally would go with a crystal or TCXO. Lay it out expecting you might need an external part, and do your validation against your own specs for your end product. If it is in a vehicle, that environment is pretty unforgiving, and the customers will be too.
