    Hi All,

Any ideas on using the Timers in Encoder Mode (as per my first query)?

    Thanx

    Hi STOne-32 / All.

I wish to use the Encoder Mode (a sub mode of the TIMers). This uses two signals in quadrature to count from an incremental encoder.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q1 : Is there any example code for this mode?

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q2 : Is it possible to cascade two timers in encoder mode - to get 32 bit counting? (I'm guessing not because you'd need two trigger out lines from the master and two trigger in lines for the slave. There only seems to be 1 trigger available).

Note: I've read the post about ''Cascading timers overflow handling and capture'' by andywild (Posted 20-01-2008 at 12:29) and AN2592 in detail.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Q3 : To Use Encoder Mode, do I have to use TIMx_CH1 & TIMx_CH2 pins (or can I use any e.g. TIMx_CH3 & TIMx_CH4)

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------

Please could you give me some advice!

    Thanks.
