Not holding my breath, don't expect to see an SPL release.

Don't be a pessimist. I hope they make a release or I won't be able to use them.

HAL drivers are just some bad implementation for my opinion.

No, I'm a realist, I live and work in the world as it is, not how I'd like it to be.

Let's see what will STs programmers say.

For every yet downloadable SPL package, ST's website says:

''The software on this page is superseded by the STM32Cube offer, an all-in-one embedded software offer.

...

For new design with ... F7, it is recommended to take advantage of the fully integrated STM32Cube ...''

To me, that clearly signals there will be no STM32F7-SPL.

This says for every family.

But, for F4xx were update about a month ago and I think that HAL drivers are not optimized as they think they are.

Well there are big players who have big projects based on STM32F4 and SPL, so ST is bound to support it, but I don't think they are going to develop SPL for completely new hardware series. See the L0 series, no SPL, only HAL.
