Is GND on pin 5 of the MIS2DH redundant or required for correct operation?

Louis Loving

The MIS2DH and the IIS2DLPC have the same pinout except for pin 5. On the IIS2DLPC, pin 5 is not connected. On the MIS2DH, pin 5 is name Res but is shown connected to GND. Is this a required connection or can the pin be left as a no connect?

Hi @Louis Loving ,

ya, you should connect it to GND as described in the datasheet p.9 for avoiding any possible issues (mainly related to ESD / spurious discharge), even if some devices can statistically work well also leaving it unconnected for their lifetime.

This because the MIS2DH has been conceived for medical and healthcare applications.
