STM32WL and generic packet format

Hello,

I have read the datasheet/reference manual on stm32WL generic format, i also looked into the cube wl sources. From the source codes i understand that stm32wl integrates semtech sx162x radio. I have not been able to pinpoint anything more specific about the radio than this. (at least i didnt find semtech radio that can do bpsk)

The question is about generic packet format - all semtech devices have FSK format (variable length) as :

preamble+syncword+length+address+payload+crc

This packet looks very very compatible with existing solutions (eg from TI.com)

BUT!

in stm32wl reference manual this format is presented as:

preamble+access address+packet length + 1 BIT + payload + CRC

Could someone knowledgeable comment on this ? (someone ST related)

Because to me it looks that datasheet is wrong. Or ST added single bit just to be incompatible with everything that is currently being used on the planet. Or i dont know.
