Datasheet for IIS2DLPC labels PIN 5 as NC (No Connect). However, the schematic for the STEVAL-MKI191V1 board labels PIN 5 as Res and has it connected to ground. Can PIN 5 be left unconnected or does it need to be grounded?

Hi @MC.4ubillas ,

please note that PIN5 is internally not connected, meaning that it can be tied to VDD, VDDIO, or GND, as stated in the datasheet, p.9.

For this reason, in the STEVAL-MKI191V1 it is tied to GND.

It's better to tie it to a known voltage, to avoid any possible antenna effect of that internally NC pad.

However, if you have already produced your application board and its environment is ESD-shielded and not exposed to possible electrical shocks, you could leave it unconnected. Otherwise, if you are in the design phase, it's better to connect it to VDD, VDDIO, or GND.

Please let me know if this answer can help you.
