Clipped sine TCXO for STM32WLE5

OYTIS

Greetings,

STM32WLE5 reference manual says an external TCXO should have a sinusoidal output. Clipped sine oscillators seem to be more available, do you think they would work too?

Thanks!

Hi @OYTIS ,

Sorry about this statement, it's not correct. It will be corrected soon.

Clipped-sine output TCXO is required with an output amplitude not exceeding 1.2 V peak-to-peak.

Be aware,  in order to minimize spurious injection, the series capacitor value must be calculated such that an amplitude of 0.4 to 0.5 Vpk-pk on OSC_IN is obtained.

For a TCXO output voltage of 0.8 Vpk-pk, 10 pF as series capacitor can be used.

See datasheet "TCXO regulator" section for more detail.

Kind regards,

Hamilton
