STM32L4 ADC power consumption VS ADC FREQ

Ach.1

Hi all.

i try to understand the power consumption of the ADC VS FREQ.

according to the DS and the REF_MANUAL , the Power consumption is 1.8uA/MHz ( in the Clock Domain ) ,

the ADC working on SYSCLK , MSI for Eg..

there is an option to divide the ADC Clock by 2,4,... 256..

im not understand if the Power consumption is in reference to the MSI FREQ or the divided FREQ.

thanks.

You should've stated which STM32 you are using, there may be differences between the families.

I'm not ST and I'm not particularly interested in ADC and low-power, but my guess is that as most of the ADCs logic is clocked by the divided clock, power consumption will go down as the clock is divided. It is not purely proportional as there's some portion of current going through leakages which is frequency-independent; there is also some portion of current associated with the prescaler and with synchronization of registers with APB. You may need to characterize this yourself for at least the general tendency, ST will want to assist you only if they see significant interest (expressed in $M of sales).
