ST-LINK_gdbserver.exe disappeared from STM32CubeIDE:

Error in final launch sequence:

Failed to start GDB server
Failed to start GDB server
Error launching GDB server. Session terminated
Cannot run program
"C:\ST\STM32CubeIDE_1.2.0\STM32CubeIDE\plugins\com.st.stm32cube.ide.mcu.externaltools.stlink-gdb-server.win32_1.3.0.202002181050\tools\bin\ST-LINK_gdbserver.exe"
(in directory "C:\ST\STM32CubeIDE_1.2.0\STM32CubeIDE\plugins\com.st.stm32cube.ide.mcu.externaltools.stlink-gdb-server.win32_1.3.0.202002181050\tools\bin"):
CreateProcess error=2, Le fichier spécifié est introuvable

I uninstall and instal again : no GDB server

I uninstall and instal again, update to 1.3.1 : no GDB server

I got a strange message at the end of the update:

An internal error occurred during: "Computing size".

Profile STM32CubeIDE is not current. Expected timestamp 1587202965390 but was 1587202348274.

Whan can I do ?

I uninstall 1.3.1

then install 1.2.0 ST-LINK_gdbserver.exe is in the directory

Start IDE, compile, debug => error message No more file ST-LINK_gdbserver.exe in the directory!

I had made a copy but I cannot place it in the folder: not the right even as an administrator ...

After multiple uninstalls and reboots, I managed to get a version 1.2.0 that worked.

I lost a day, I will stay away from version 1.3.x which seems unstable to me.

Exactly same problem happened to CubeIDE 1.5.1

In my case, the avast antivirus software puts the  ST-LINK_gdbserver.exe file into its chest and deletes it.

Solution:

Re-install the IDE. restored the file.
