How to enable HalfTransferCompleted and Transfer Completed. Using Cube MX and HAL

Stefan Wozniak

Hi,

I've generated a code using CubeMx 5.1.0

On MCU STM32F103C8T (Blue pill)

I want to controll PWM duty pulses thru DMA in Circular mode.

I want to use circular buffer and on half transfer I want to update half of an array that I sent thru DMA to TIMer for PWM.

I was able to setup TIM with PWM and DMA. Now PWM is generated according to my array of dutys. Now I want to update array content on half and full transfer bu I don't hnow how to setup callback on such event.

Can anyone point me how to do this?

Hi,

There was an error in code generated by CubeMX, after updating packages and regenerating code it start to work.

I just need to implement two functions (callbacks)

HAL_TIM_PWM_PulseFinishedCallback and HAL_TIM_PWM_PulseFinishedHalfCpltCallback

I was expecting something with a "Transfer" but it looks like it's related to "Pulse"

Now I will implement it in my code.

Thanks

I don't know how would you do it by clicking in CubeMX, but normally you'd set HTIE and TCIE in DMA_CCRx for the given DMA channel, to enable the half-transfer and transfer-complete interrupts; you'd enable the interrupt in NVIC; you'd write the interrupt handler (with the correct name to match the vector table in startup file) for the given DMA channel, in it you'd read out DMA_ISR and check whether HTIFx or TCIFx is set to find out whether interrupt was caused by half-transfer or transfer-complete (and then clear them in DMA_IFCR).

Hi.

Thanks for Your answer.

I was trying to do what you described and it looks like it is impossible to do that in CubeMx just by clicking.

Can you point me how can I update my code to get this?

I can confirm that this is working.
