STM32F103 USB-CDC does not work

Nuppo

I am trying to communicate my Maple Mini clone board with PC without using a USART hardware.

I've configured MCU with STM32Cube IDE which has STM32CubeMX in it. I've enabled USB hardware, set it to FS, set FS mode to CDC. After I flashed that firmware, when I plug board using a USB cable, there is no device shown on Device Manager.

CDC_Transmit_FS functions returns 1 which I think corresponds to HAL_ERROR. I've set the CDC_SET_LINE_CODING in usbd_cdc_if.c as recommended in some other thread. I've tried another USB cable in case other one does not have working data bus. No matter what I've done, I could not get it working.

I am using Windows 10 64 bit version. As I know, I should let Windows to take care of driver installation.

There is a USB reset line on one of the GPIO ports that may need to be toggled. Looking at the schematic it's on PB9.

Do you switch on the DP pullup?

JW

What do you mean by switch on DP pullup? Pullup resistors are already implemented on Maple mini hardware.

Is this a blue pill type board? If so you may need to change one of the resistors from 10k to 1.5k

See the know issues here

Configuring PB9 as output then setting it to low solved my problem. Thank you for your help.

hello, i starting project with STM32 bluepill like this

https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-T-WHRINBKl8/WsBQfq-20bI/AAAAAAAAAIQ/tkRwu3eP9lsNS7_zP2Bw7_cJ15HPcbPXQCLcBGAs/s1600/STM32F103C8T6.jpg

CDC_Transmit_FS() return Busy.

R10 = 1.5Kohm

my enumeration works STM32 VPC detected but CDC_Transmit_FS() return 1 busy and no callback CDC_Receive_FS().

have you an idea?

USB reset line don't have in my board no?

example don't work like all video youtube......

thanks
