ESD diode protection on NJTRST (JTAG net) causing problem on power up the STM32F746IGT6 MCU. Anyone knows why?

Hi,

We are using STM32F746IGT6 MCU in our circuit and it seems that when i connect ESD diode to to NJTRST/PB4 pin for protection, the MCU FW sometimes works at power up and sometimes don't (very random).

It happens to me so far with two different ESD diode arrays (connected to all of the JTAG nets- TDI, TDO, TCK, TMS and TRST). Example for one of them:

SM16LC05E3_TR13

When I disconnect the diode array from TRST line, the unit works every time on power up. Does that make sense? Can someone explain it to me?

In addition, i couldn't find it on DS- but does the STM32F746IGT6 have internal ESD protecion? If not, do you think it would be a problem to connect a 50ohm resistor in series for the JTAG lines?

Thanks!

Dudi
