Windows is not detecting ST-Link V2

My ST-Link was working fine with keil, but then i tried to install different tool chains like true studio, and running linux on virtual machine, st-link utility (and in the process i may have installed some new drivers). Now windows don't detect ST-link at all, it shows in device manager as unknown USB device (Code 43). I have deleted all tool chains and drivers and re-install but still st-link is not detected by windows. I have also tried to google the solution but all of the solutions point to a particular tool chain not detecting ST-Link, my problem is that windows don't detect it and show in device manager as unknown USB device. I also tried to add drivers manually to this unknown device but the windows ask for .inf file type, where as in my system the driver is installed as .sys file in C:\Windows\system32\drivers\WinUsb.sys . Is it possible the firmware on my st link is corrupted, is there any way to solve it or do i need to buy a new one?:\
