The trick is not to certify it. ST has done the certification for you. Contact a sales rep and ask for it.
The FDA qualifies laser products. The manufacturer (ST in this case) will file the paperwork and get an 'accession letter'. This letter states that ST did the tests, and filed paperwork stating we are a Class 1 device. As long as you do not change the optics, you can use this letter as your certification of being Class 1.
