Mess with ST7LITE15 DIP and SO packages

I have ST7LITE15 device in SO20 and DIP20 packages (which I get together with a programmer like samples). It seems that both versions don't have the same pinout. Is this possible??

The first strange thing is that the datasheet for ST7LITE1 does not mention DIP version but SO only.

I use STICK programmer with a socket board SB10-123. I can program SO device in SO socket and DIP device in DIP socket normally. But for test purposes I made some kind of cross-sockets. So in that way I can put SO device in DIP socket and vice versa (with pin-to-pin relevance of course). In this case the programmer doesn't recognize the devices.

The main problem is that I don't have reliable information about pinout for both of the types.

Did anybody notice similar problems?

Hi Boris,

with the very first version of the ST7LITE15 there are differences between dip20 and so20. They aligned this problem with transition to type ''B'': ST7LITE15B. From then on dip20 has the same pinning as so20.

If your samples are older and dont be of ''B'' type, you should get a datasheet with revision 1xx. If you don't succeed, please let me know. I could try to deliver you a cross list.

Hello WoRo,

thank you very much for your reply.

I tried to find some information about DIP and SO differences but without success. If you are able to inform me about them I would be very grateful.

Best regards.

Hi Boris,

When you are sure to work with an obsolete version of the controller...

I will try to attach to this message the oldest Version, I can find in my data museum 😉 .

You may read about the pinning in chapter

2 PIN DESCRIPTION.

Best Regards

WoRo

Hello WoRo,

that's solution for my problem. Thank you very much!

I have some old samples and I want to use them in some prototypes.

Best regards!
