New chips with U suffix.

I am used to chips being marked for example ''STM32F405VGT6''. However, from several people I hear that now chips marked with an additional ''U'' at the end are showing up. Date code 1613 or something like that.

One person reported problems with that chip.

To be honest: I personally don't think it's the chip, but I would like to know what that U stands for (the datasheet clearly states that this U does not exist....)

That link doesn't work for me.  Googling s a rabbit hole...a Wikipedia article on STM chips indicates that for ST's Java chips a U suffix means 'sample', does  that follow for the non-Java chips ????

Does anyone know?

Amel,

the link to the presentation does not work, returns 404.

And, what's more puzzling, it returns 404 even from the current ST website, when clicking on the searched link:

I know that this is an old document which may not be valid anymore, but for continuity reasons, could you please dig it out and archive it here?

Thanks,

Jan
