Documentation bug in RM0090 DocID018909 Rev 12?

Posted on August 22, 2016 at 20:20

The reference manual for the STM32F4[05,15,07,17,27,37,29,39] in the section describing TIM1,8 has a block diagram (figure 86) that doesn't make sense.

The CC1I interrupt is shown to be generated by channel 4, CC2I by channel 3, CC3I by channel 2, and CC4I by channel 1.

This pattern is not the same as the other timers.

I believe that CCxI should be generated by channel x (where x is [1,4]).

I think this may be a documentation figure mistake.

Indeed. A mistake in the ''coloring process'' between rev.11 and rev.

Also, the ''arrows'' with ''U'' are supposed to point *into* the respective boxes, as they indicate that those boxes are loaded from the shadows upon update event.

One more error is that the PSC prescaler is shadowed, too.

The ''U arrow'' should be at the prescaler, too, but it's missing in the original (attached for reference) and other-timers' diagram, too.

I wish this to be the worst flaw of the timers' chapters.
