I am curently using the STM32F407 and F427 MicroControllers.

Can anyone advise if they are CAN FD compatible or if this is a software layer etc.

Any information would be helpful.

Pretty sure it is an accelerated signalling mode, and not a software layer tweak, so no I don't think this is supported by the bxCAN controller used by ST.

Thanks Clive.

I think CAN FD has a 8 byte to 64 byte data flexability.

Maybe  ST  support can advise on availablity.

Once again thanks for help ... and in the past.  KR John W

for can-fd the can-controller within the silicon has to be modified. as far as i know there a some vhdl implementations for fpga's.

or you check the vendors for an external can-controler with spi interface and can-fd support.

Hi

White.John

,

The CAN FD is not supported on our current products, but it will be available on STM32H7:
