Hi there,

I am looking for a board that is able to run as USB device and has CAN transceivers.

OLIMEXIMO with STM32F103 is exclude because of F103 that cannot run USB and CAN simultaneously (they share some internal resources).

Any other MCU (that does not suffer the same fate) should be OK. The board should be reasonably supported on mid-term (e.g. being available for sale within a few years).

Do some of you have an idea where I can find such a gem ? (I did STFW without success by now).

Hi gonzalez.laurent,

Yes, you can use one of the STM32F4xx Eval boards available at this

I've picked up these in the past

http://elty.pl/pl/p/STM32F2x7VGT6-DK-A/347

, not sure of current availability.

I've got these, where the modem plug-in can be left off. CAN and 12V can be supplied via a Molex connector. Currently building with 1MB 405 parts, but the foot print works with the 205, 215 parts.

Thanks guys.

Clive,

look very good, but availability is questionable.

Hannibal, your link led me to boards having no CAN drivers or having too much features, and probably too expensive/big for my needs.

After having virtually walked though the planet several times, I might stop a my starting point: Olimex has a dirt cheap STM32-P405 that I missed at the beginning of my trip, because I was focused on F105/107.

I hope that the F405 will allow me to use CAN and USB simultaneously.

Cheers.
