I am using STM32F4-DISCOVERY and dc motor.

Is it possible to drive with a PWM a dc motor with STM32F4DISCOVERY using only the USB OTG FS with micro-AB connector?

many thanks

Cesare

''DC Motor'' is an awfully vague specification.

I'm going to guess that a) it requires more current than an STM32 pin can sink/source, and b) more than a USB connector can be expected to provide.

So you're like to need to provide an adequate power supply, and driver circuit, H-bridge, or whatever, for the motor

As dc motor I use this type, as specified in this photo:

Yes, you've shown me a generic picture of a DC Motor, this really doesn't convey the operating parameters of the motor you are attempting to use, or convince me that you have any idea what you are doing. You are still going to need to get a suitable power supply and driver circuits. Perhaps you converse with your teacher, supervisor, or whomever.

So in answer to your original question, No, you are not going to be able to slap this on a Discovery board and have it work, without additional thought and circuitry.

ST has a motor demo board
