FOC SDK 4.3 | Motor Profiler | low power BLDC

We are trying to setup a small BLDC motor with the Motor Profiler utility.

-X-NUCLEO-IHM07M1

-FOC SDK 4.3

-Custom motor: 2 pole pair BLDC 18VDC, 2W @ no load, 4000 rpm

With this setup the Motor Profiler is not able to successfully finish the profiling sequence.

During the profiling cycle the motor is turning slower each profiling attempt during the determination of the electrical model. The sequence stops with the message: profiling sequence takes to long.

Why is the Motor Profiler utility not able to finish the profiler sequence using the BLDC motor mentioned above? Are there special modifications necessary running ‘low’ power BLDC motors?

I have also got this problem. After I have set lower max. speed and max. current, the Motor Profiler is able to successfully create a motor profile.

Hi,

we already tuned the motor at 0.28 Apk. This value is given as a minimum by the Profiler utility:

Did you use a max current < 0.28 Apk? What are your motor specs?

I used a 48V 15A 10-Pole motor. My setting is Max Speed 500 RPM and Max Current 12 Apk.

OK, you are not hitting the minimum Apk. Which is different compared to my application.

Selected a BLDC motor which is running at 0.33 Apk which is higher then the minimum of 0.28 Apk. Profiling successfully within 10 seconds. Problem solved.

The question has been moved from the "Motor Control Hardware" section to the "STM32 Motor Control" section (the question is about the STM32 MC SDK).
