Hi,

would like to use STM 32 F0 for 3-phase motor control. Could anyone please let me know what evaluation board for motor control in STM32 F0 to purchase?

ALso, I

noticed that st’s library

STM32 PMSM FOC SDK

supports STM32 F0 as well

How does it work?

Thanks and best regards

Ciao Motor

The evaluation board that you can find in the ST stock that is based on STM32F0 is the

http://www.st.com/web/catalog/tools/FM116/SC959/SS1532/LN1199/PF259717?s_searchtype=partnumber

but up to now the STM32 PMSM FOC SDK motor control firmware library

http://www.st.com/web/catalog/tools/FM147/CL1794/SC961/SS1743/LN1734/PF257936?s_searchtype=partnumber

support ''out-of-the-box'' the STM320518-EVAL, the older one that is now no more at stock.

We plan to extend the support of the STM32072B-EVAL in the next release of the SDK.

Thanks a lot, Gigi.

I checked

http://www.st.com/web/catalog/tools/FM116/SC959/SS1532/LN1199/PF259717?s_searchtype=partnumber

, but it doesn't look to support motor control friendly. Since there is no main circuits (rectifier) included on this EVM. what else I need to be cautious when choosing a main circuit?

Also, Is this easier to use discovery kit directly connected to main circuit?

It is great to hear that ST is going to support STM32072B-EVAL with FOC. When do we expect to be available?

Ciao Motor

I don't know if I catch your question. To build a motor control system you have two choice:

- Arrange a system with a Control Board plus a Power Board

- Try with a single board approach

With the first you have the flexibility to choose the computational power of the micro + the power size of the inverter.

The STM32072B-EVAL is just a control board and you have to combine it with any power board (STEVAL-IHM0xx) present in the ST stock.

Discovery kit is not supported by the FOC SDK and can't be connected with the power board because there is no 34pin MC connector onboard.

The next release of the FOC SDK will support the STM32072B-EVAL and is planned for Q1 '15

The question has been moved from the "Motor Control Hardware" section to the "STM32 Motor Control" section (the question is about the STM32 MC SDK).
