Broken Forum Login

Posted on May 18, 2016 at 20:54

The forum has been a mess the last few days. Only ''sign-on to forum'' seems to work, entering username/password on message replies just results in all sorts of error screens/pages. TCP connect or somesuch.

The empty XML was a random response from the server during one login attempt. The sign in sometimes requires two attempts, ie you submit once, and the same login comes back again.

Still habitually seeing this if attempting to reply to a post while not currently logged in. I don't think I've ever got to a login screen via this route since the forum was tinkered with the other week or so. Only thing working is the site level login.

Proxy Error

The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server.

The proxy server could not handle the request

/cas/login

.

Reason: Error reading from remote server

Same here. One more obstacle to access this forum, as if there would not be enough of them already.

You forgot to properly tag your post, Clive.

Clicking on the link in the ''Proxy error'' you gave above and logging in resulted in the following message. It sounds like an opportunity to make real harm, but I am not in an a hacking mood this morning.

Hi jan & clive,

Please note that issue faced when trying to reply posts is reported internally and is under investigation.

But I would like to understand:

1- When exactly is the error ''

XML Parsing Error: no element found

'' displayed?

2- Where do you try to access Jan?

Not yet, or came back.

Not being logged in, having displayed a thread, clicked at Reply, been redirected to login page, it had pre-filled name and password so I just clicked Login, and the following came up:

Proxy Error

The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server.

The proxy server could not handle the request

/cas/login;jsessionid=2276603017A906CC86EFD1707C4DF95D
