STM32Cube_FW_F4_V1.16.0 demos for F469 discovery don't work using IAR

Hello!

Basically the title explains all. Here are a few details.

I'm using IAR 8.11, and I'm trying to compile sample code from STM32Cube_FW_F4_V1.16.0, with the board I have: a STM32469I-Disco. I tried to compile all the examples related to LCD, none of them works. I was told it's probably a problem in STM32Cube_FW_F4_V1.16.0 which should be use with IAR 7. I was told that 7.8 works.

Will there be an update to these firmwares (V1.17 for example) anytime soon?

You might want to ask yourself why 8.x is incompatible with prior releases, and what else in your code base this might affect adversely. Does IAR provide a compatibility mode/setting?
