I was looking for the ''proper'' way to calculate values rather than making any assumptions like every single tutorial or example code that I've seen so far. One useful finding appears in this git commit, but I can't find any documentation for it, and it isn't in use anywhere else that I've seen.

Did I overlook this in the reference manual somewhere? Search doesn't always help as they might be written with a space in the middle, or in a table, etc.
