Multiple discovery boards?

I can load the Windows USB driver (into a VM--I don't oen any actual Windows box), and plug in a discovery board and all is well. Can update firmware, load stuff, etc. But when I try to connect another apparently identical board, I get a USB ''device not recognized'' error. Should I be able to connect more than one board? I can program them with st-link under Linux, but there are some things the Windows GUI thing would be handy for.

Probably have different serial numbers and Windows wants to instantiate each individually. Each unique USB device gets it's own node in the registry.
