Difficulties in finding the ideal transformer

My first project using the tool eDesignSuite and I'm developing a switching power supply with a 85VAC to 265VAC input voltage with 24VDC output and 5A of output current. My difficulty is in finding the transformer to suit my application. Could someone help me?

Hello,

I suppose you are using the L6566B/L6566BH to create a design with that output.

eDesignSuite suggests an EER40, if you haven't modified any other parameters. Otherwise, could you give us more details?

Thanks in your interest in our tool.

Hi, EER40 is the core. I wonder if you can help me with a commercial transformer, or if I really have to leave for a construction of a new transformer?

I'm using L6566B, and the only change I made was to change over current protection auto restart for current latched.

Hi,

Recently a list of commercial transformers from Wurth Elektronic was added to the list of core available in eDesignSuite.

From transformer design view, in the table where core type is shown, you can choose to ''Select from list'' another core, different from the one automatically suggested by eDesign.

According to your specifics, there is one commercial core from Wurth, ETD39 TH-H 16-Pin.

Could you please verify if it satisfies your requirements?

Best regards,

Patrizia

Hi,

according to your specs, there could be a Wurth commercial transformer suitable for your application. Its order code is 750811744, see attachment.

Please contact Emil Nierges, product applications engineer from WE<Emil.Nierges@we-online.com>, for further information.

Best regards,

Patrizia

Dear Hillmann,

Indeed as Patrizia states, I made some research and I found a close solution for the transformer requirements in our database, see attached file: PN 750811744

We could provide samples to try them out and, even more, make a customs solution if needed based on electrical and mechanical requirements along with safety standard requirements.

Let me know your contact information so I can put you in touch with our local support.
