How does PWM timing work in L6470

My question is a typical 1.8deg step motor (200 steps per rev) set for 128 micro steps will finish each micro step in <10usec at a speed of 300RPM. With a PWM period of 64us (15.625K) how this PWM can set a desired current for each micro step. Moreover how this works when motor time constant L/R is typical about a msec.

Hi,

if your micro stepping rate is higher than the PWM frequency the ''missing'' microsteps are just skipped.
