how to connect STM3210B to PC via USART1

I try to use the USART1 to download my program to the STM3210B evaluation board. And the ''Flash Loader Demo“ program always says ''No response from the target''. Then I check the schematic and I found the RX pin is connected to pin 2 of the DB9 connector. And the PC also connects RX pin to pin 9 of DB9 connector. So basically RX to RX instead RX to TX. Is this the problem I met?

So I need to buy a cable with the pin2 and pin 3 is unversed wired?

Thanks,

Hi,

I brought this issue up earlier - it would be helpful if the user manual would identify the USART connection so that we would not have to study the schematic for basic hook-up. As a board to PC is the ''major'' connector tendency it would also be nice if each Eval board specified the cable type for ''PC Connection.''

A ''Null Modem'' cable will cross the connections for you - you will do well to acquire both that and a Straight-Through serial cable too.
