Hi everyone,

I'm making a comparison of different SoM for IoT. I found the SPWF01SA which matchs with my needs. But I want to know the heat generated by this module. Does someone have this data ?

Hi Vincent,

I'm sorry, but I haven't this information.

However, remember than the heat generated by the module depends on wifi_mode (miniAP or STA), wifi_tx_power (0 to 18), wifi_opr_rate_mask (b/g/n), duty cycle (how much time module is in TX state).

What's your constraint?

I know i can't have a precise number. I'm looking for an idea of how mcuh heat the component. I'm using it on Tx at 18dBm and as miniAP.

The constraint is that the module is near a led pannel which are sensible at temprature change

Hi Vincent,

you have the total Watt consumption (using max Current Peak from datasheet).

Note that there is a big big thermal pad on the bottom of the module.

If you use it according to datasheet rules, and design your PCB to dissipate that amount of power, I don't see any issue.

I'm sorry, I cannot be more accurate. It's totally depending from your PCB...
