Hi, is there any pdf available relating to the operation of the Unico Lite GUI. I have version 2.0.0.0 installed but I cannot seem to get it to communicate with the LSM6DS3.

Thanks

I think Unico Lite GUI is quite obsolete SW. Don't you want to use rather the newest Unico 5.0 which you can find

http://www.st.com/content/st_com/en/products/embedded-software/evaluation-tool-software/stsw-mki109w.html

.

If you describe more what are you intention I can point you to the best SW and HW tools.

Thank you for the response Miroslav. The reason I downloaded version 2 was that it was on the downl;oad page for the STEVAL-MKI176V1. I have downloaded version 5 now.

I am trying to communicate with the Gyroscope over SPI on the LSM6DS3 device on the

STEVAL-MKI176V1 via  the STM32F103 microcontroller.

When I try to connect to the device using the GUI, I get the error attached. The firmware version isn't being recognised. The motherboard that I am using is a custom printed board.

Unico and Unico Lite are intended to work with eMotion board (

http://www.st.com/content/st_com/en/products/evaluation-tools/product-evaluation-tools/mems-motion-sensor-eval-boards/steval-mki109v2.html

) or Professional MEMS tool (

http://www.st.com/content/st_com/en/products/evaluation-tools/product-evaluation-tools/mems-motion-sensor-eval-boards/steval-mki109v3.html

).

You can connect all sensors available in DIL24 adapter like LSM6DS3 (

STEVAL-MKI176V1).

Please be aware you have to upgrate the firmware in the board by the one distributed together with Unico.

If you use your own board custom board you would have to write your own firmware compatible with Unico, which is very difficult.

I would recommend you to send the data from your board only to terminal.
