ULPI PHY issue with STM32F429

Hi All,

I have a USB3333 connected to a STM32F429. I can't seem to get the PHY to enumerate in high speed mode - it always falls back to full speed. My code is using the ST cube example with minor modifications (pin changes etc).

After doing some digging I have found some other posts that refer to issues with F4xx micros and some SMSC PHYs (

https://my.st.com//public/STe2ecommunities/mcu/Lists/cortex_mx_stm32/STM32F2F4%20problems%20with%20various%20ULPI%20USB%20PHYs

 and

https://my.st.com//public/STe2ecommunities/mcu/Lists/cortex_mx_stm32/USB3340%20from%20SMSC%20allways%20working%20in%20FS%20usin%20a%20STM32F407

 and possibly

https://my.st.com//public/STe2ecommunities/mcu/Lists/cortex_mx_stm32/USB%20HS%20Hi-Speed%20Alternative%20ULPI%20Transceiver

). There is nothing official from ST that I can find anywhere. There is nothing in the latest errata.

Does anyone have any information on this?

Can anyone from ST provide a comment please?

I would be very grateful for any information.

Thanks in advance.

These type of part selection, and part issues, should be something discussed with an FAE during the design phase. You could try the Online Support request, but ST really needs a ''Register My Project'' type page to get support/resources assigned as appropriate. Some of the SMSC part evidently don't work with some of the STM32 parts

The FAE staff really don't seem to participate here, a policy I really don't understand.
