Baud rate of spwf01sa.11 and its effects on WiFi throughput

Hi,

I am planning to use spwf01sa.11 module in my project. I couldn't find the baud rates of the UART interface to host microprocessor. What are the supported baud rates for UART? In addition, I want to know what is the effects of UART on the WiFi throughput? I mean I want to know how can I provide high data rate (e.g. 54 Mbps) over UART from host to spwf01sa.11 module? If the baud rate is low, I think it limits the WiFi throughput very drammatically. What should I do if I want to use high data rates over UART?

Thanks,

Gokhan

Hi Gokhan,

UART supports up to 921600bps, but throughput is currently limited to 40-50KBps

Can you elaborate - Is this throughput limited due to the firmware on the SPWF01SA or something else?

Will there be a firmware update that will allow to utilize the full WiFi bandwidth of the module, so it will be feasable to download medium and large files using SPWF01SA? For instance with multiple data communication pins between the SPWF01SA and the host MCU.

Or is the board fundamentally designed to only allow for receiving and sending very small files?
