And this presents a problem how exactly? Can it still program them?

What version of the utilities is being used?

ST at one point did change some model numbering, and some devices have different die in them depending on manufacturing decisions and market stratification. ie newer or higher functioning die may be down-marked to meet pricing or production goals.

If in doubt contact your sales or distribution chain.

The device will programm. but does not start.

most of the time it will error with this message

09:00:46 : Connection to device is lost: check power supply and debug connection.

09:00:46 : If the target is in low power mode, please enable ''Debug in Low Power mode'' option from Target->settings menu

The version of the st link utility is v3.4.0
