Hello,

I'm working on Windows XP Home Edition and on ST7 Visual Debug V2.52. I encounter this connection problem :

''Connection error (LPT1): gdi-error in DVP : Communication error''

How can I solve this problem.

Hello,

1) Firstly, please check whether the parallel port cable, cables from the DVP and power supply are connected properly.

2) If the error occurs after the debug window appears, is it possible for you to perform the ''Emulator>Hardware Test''?(Please refer online help on the same for more details)

3) Is it possible for you check on another OS and computer?

Hello,

My ST7MDT1/MDT5-DVP2 is working properly on another PC under Windows 98 SE.

I think the driver used by ST7VD 2.52 doesn't work properly with Windows XP Home Edition SP1.

Do you think so ? And what can I do ?

Hi,

My MDT1/MDT5-DVP2 is working fine with a machine running on XP Professional(no service pack).

Re-install STVD7, in case the parallel port driver has not got installed properly, but I would suspect a machine-specific problem. Is your parallel port able to drive any other hardware(EMU3 or EPB)?

What's strange is that I can Program in ISP Mode, but I can not emulate ?!

What are the parameters of your LPT Port, please.

Hello,

If you are able to use your DVP2 kit for programming, there cannot be any problem with port settings or with the driver, because the same driver is used when emulating or programming. (Anyway, just for informnation, Centronics, ECP, EPP and Bidirectional modes are supported by STVD7 and STVP7).

All I can think of now is the connection between the DVP board and your target application. Could the adapter be damaged?

I have reinstalled all the sofware after total desinstallation.

I have suppressed it from the register too.

And, now it works !?
