Just clear the readout protection in the option bytes and the device will automatically be erased, ready for reprograming.

Dear sjo,

But very strange. when I do like you describe. There is an error message like belows:

Hardware configuration set to .

Blank check before programming (when available) is OFF

Verify after programming is ON.

Clear memory before loading a file is ON.

Erase device memory before programming (when available) is OFF

Display a popup window when an error occurs is ON.

Log activity is OFF

> Programming PROGRAM MEMORY area...

Error : Error while reading Option Byte

Error : < PROGRAM MEMORY programming failed.

I don't konw what's the reason. Could you help me to analyze?

Best Regards,

A common problem with the older CFlash parts was that if the option bytes became corrupt due to a programming failure the device does not run.

The solution is to supply an external clock to the OSC1 pin as per the newer flash parts.

This will enable the device to run and hopefully recover the option bytes.
