Hi - I am currently writing code in order to turn off the SPI when not in use (in this case when not writing data to EEPROM) so as to have a much lower power consumption. However when I do this, i am unable to write data to EEPROM again when I enable it. Anyone any idea what could be wrong with it

You problem does not seem clear. Are you trying to say that when you turn off the SPI when you aree not using it. Now when you want to use it, you enable it and now you are not able to write data to EEPROM. Or is the problem different.

Which device are you working with
